If you’re seriously into whisky, then Scotland’s Dalmore line is for you. This line of single malt whiskies offers the world’s most exceptional spirits. Master Distiller Richard Paterson has his expert fingerprints all over these incredible single malts. The secret to Paterson’s success is that he began aging the malts in a range of wine and spirit casks.
The 15 Year Old blend has been described as, “the perfect balance between spirit, wood and maturity.” It has an intense aroma with fragrances of orange, marmalade and spice. The finish is sherry wood.
Deep rich amber flecked with reddish highlights describes the 1263 King Alexander III. This blend contains a variety of aromas that are exotic, citric and floral that gives way to black fruit and burnished oak.
Malt flavors that give way to spice cake and sweet marmalade give way to the taste of the Gran Reserva. The Gran Reserva is derived from 60 percent sherry wood and 40 percent American white oak-aged malts ranging from 10 to 15 years of age.
Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks give the 12 Year Old its “youthful spirit.” With its intense attack, the 12 Year Old is a great introduction to the Dalmore line.
